The Corner notes the positive reviews of Mel Gibson's The Passion of Christ at Ain't It Cool News.
The problem is, the AICN reviewers have little taste. Very useful gossip. Very little taste.
Exhibit A: Read this review of Matrix 3 by National Review's James Lileks. About half way down he quotes some stuff from AICN's review. It's comically bad.
Exhibit B: From an AICN review of Attack of the Clones, describing the Boba/Jango Fett scenes: "so honest and real. I’ve never seen a father – son moment like this in science fiction. Completely classic.”
